Repair Bay Evolution is a platform used by auto body shops to communicate with their customers about vehicle repairs. Before any SMS text message is sent to a customer, the auto body shop must collect explicit verbal consent from the customer. This is done through a structured process within our application:
The shop employee reads the following script (or a substantially similar version) to the customer:
"We use a platform called Repair Bay Evolution to keep you updated on your vehicle repair. With your permission, we'd like to send you text messages about your repair status, including progress updates and when your vehicle is ready. Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time to opt out. Do you consent to receiving these text messages?"
"You have opted in to receive SMS updates about your vehicle repair. Reply STOP at any time to opt out. Msg & data rates may apply."
SMS messaging is not enabled for a customer until this consent step is completed. The consent button requires an affirmative action by the shop employee to confirm that verbal consent was obtained.

Messages are only sent when there is relevant information about your vehicle repair. No marketing, promotional, or advertising messages are sent.
Message frequency varies based on your repair order activity. You will only receive messages when there are updates or communications related to your active repair.
You can opt out of SMS text messages at any time by:
Once opted out, your consent record is updated in our system and you will not receive further SMS text messages unless you provide consent again. The opt-out is processed automatically and takes effect immediately.
To opt back in after opting out, reply START to the number you previously received messages from, or ask the auto body shop to re-confirm your consent through the platform.

Your phone number and consent status are stored securely and are only accessible to the auto body shop you have a repair order with. Consent records include the phone number, timestamp, and the employee who confirmed consent. We do not sell, share, or rent your phone number or personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
